Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the nursing programmes at Jainee College of Nursing is governed by the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Indian Nursing Council (INC), and The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Candidates seeking admission must fulfill the following eligibility requirements.

🎓 Educational Qualification Requirements

Candidates applying for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Degree Programme must have completed 12 years of schooling in the academic stream from a recognized board or university.

The qualifying examination must be one of the following:

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2)
  • Senior School Certificate / Pre-Degree Examination (10+2)
  • Any equivalent examination with 12 years of schooling recognized by a competent authority

The candidate must have studied Science stream with the required subjects as prescribed by the regulatory authorities.

Subject & Marks Criteria

Candidates must have studied the following subjects at the qualifying examination level:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology (or Botany and Zoology)
  • English
Minimum Marks Requirement
  • Minimum of 35% marks separately in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology) in both theory and practical.
  • Minimum of 35% marks in English is compulsory.
Grace pass, deficiency condoned pass, mercy pass, declared pass, or exempted pass in non-core subjects may be accepted. However, such relaxation is not applicable for core subjects.

Eligibility & Requirements

🎂 Age Requirement

  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
  • Candidates completing 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year are eligible.

There is no upper age limit, subject to Government and regulatory norms.

🏥 Medical Fitness Requirement

Every selected candidate must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Medical Officer or authorized practitioner.

  • Physically fit for nursing education and clinical training
  • Free from medical conditions affecting performance

Ensures safety of students, patients, and institutions.
